The cylinders, hewn from gray Belgian Arduin stone, bear the imprint of a stonecarving technique. The cut indicating they are a byproduct.
Industrial rubber ties, typically relegated to the mundanity of office supplies, function as unlikely protagonists in this juxtaposition. Carefully and individually placed, these rubber ties encircle the stone cylinders, binding them together.
The contrast is stark and yet harmonious—the weightiness of the stone juxtaposed with the pliancy of rubber, the timelessness of tradition intertwined with the modernity of industry speaks about the durable and digradable charachter of objects.
